Careers Guernsey has opened a new dedicated drop-in hub at the former sixth form centre at Les Varendes High School.
Recently renamed as Footes Lane House the former sixth form centre is now home to a number of education services.
That includes Careers Guernsey which launched its new drop-in hub last week during National Careers Week.
The drop-in service has been designed to offer free, impartial guidance to residents at any stage of their professional lives.
Staff can offer support and advice on post-16 pathways and subject choices, as well as guidance on retraining, returning to the workforce, or changing careers to fit lifestyle changes.
The service also aims to drive understanding of what Guernsey’s workforce needs, and developing local talent through work-related learning.
Sarah Stonebridge, Head of Careers for Careers Guernsey, said the service can help people feel more confident.
“Anyone wanting support can now drop-in, or phone or email. Our team will work with you to review the right support for you and explore what your next steps could look like. We’re here to help you move forward with confidence.
“As a dedicated careers support hub, we would also like to encourage businesses and employers to get in touch – we are committed to understanding your workforce needs and supporting the development of our local talent through work related learning and experiences.”
The drop-in hub is open Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:00, with out-of-hours appointments are available upon request.
Members of the public can visit in person, phone, or email, with contact details and more information found online at careers.gg.
