Property agent Savills has appointed a new director to lead its residential sales team in Guernsey.

James Starkey brings a decade of experience advising buyers and sellers across some of the island’s biggest property transactions.

He previously worked for local agents Swoffers and Cooper Brouard before moving to London in 2023, where he focused on the prime Mayfair and Marylebone markets.

Most recently he led the Richmond office for London agent Chestertons.

Mr Starkey said: “Whilst I enjoyed my time in London immensely, Guernsey has a way of drawing people back and this was a great opportunity that came at the right time both personally and professionally.

“I grew up on the island, so I know just what a wonderful place it is to call home. I’m very excited to join a company I have long admired, but also to work alongside a group of highly experienced agents who I have known for several years.

“I’m delighted to have an opportunity to feed into that expertise and to use my own experience to help the team build on what they’ve already achieved – driving future growth and underpinning our reputation as a market leader.”

Mr Starkey will be leading a team that includes experienced residential director Nick Paluch, sales associate Kelsey Gerrard and sales consultants Megan Chipperfield and Monique Search.

Tony Rowbotham, head of office at Savills Guernsey, said: “We are delighted to welcome James to the Savills family. He brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to a core area of our business where we are looking to grow and increase our market share.

“He has a thorough understanding of the Guernsey property markets and his arrival ensures the evolution and expansion of our team continues and the services we offer to our clients is further enhanced.”
