The Old Government House Hotel and Spa has announced a change in leadership, with Helen Gregory joining the business as its newest Director of Sales.
Ms Gregory joined the OGH in May 2025, with the hotel saying she brought “a wealth of experience across various roles in the hospitality sector”. Ms Greogry has previously run her own catering company and most recently served as Sales Manager for Hand Picked Hotels.
In 2022, Ms Gregory relocated from Hand Picked’s Cheshire property to the Channel Islands, where she has since driven and overseen sales for the group’s hotels across the Bailiwick, including St Pierre Park, Fermain Valley Hotel and Braye Beach Hotel.
Ms Gregory said she’s looking forward to the journey ahead.
“I’m delighted to have joined the Red Carnation family. The Old Government House Hotel & Spa is a remarkable property, and we have an exciting period ahead with new developments in the works.
“I’m looking forward to sharing this journey and reconnecting with the network I’ve built in Guernsey over the past two and a half years.”
The OGH says Ms Gregory’s appointment marks a significant chapter, during a “landmark year for Red Carnation Hotels in Guernsey”.
Following the recent sale of the Duke of Richmond Hotel, the group says it’s making a substantial investment into The OGH, to try and enhance the guest experience, and add that they hope to set a new standard of luxury on the island.
Andrew Chantrell, the General Manager of the OGH, added: “Helen brings a wealth of local market expertise and proven record in sales leadership, making her an outstanding addition to The Old Government House Hotel & Spa team.
“Her appointment comes at a pivotal time as we embark on an exciting phase of growth and renewal. The upcoming renovations represent a strategic investment in the future of our hotel – enhancing our offering and reinforcing Red Carnation’s dedication to exceptional properties defined by warmth, commitment, and personalised service.”
