Rocq Capital Management Limited has announced the appointment of Harry Bazzaz as its Chief Investment Officer.
Mr Bazzaz took over the position from John de Garis at the start of July.
Mr de Garis had fulfilled the role since 2008 and now continues as Managing Director of the Rocq Capital Group.
“I am delighted to be handing over the CIO role to Harry,” he said.
“He is a highly experienced investment manager and client assets remain in safe hands. I will remain involved in all investment matters but Harry will now lead the day-to-day operations supported by the dependable and reliable team around him.”
Mr Bazzaz joined the company as an Investment Manager in 2017 and was appointed a Director in 2023. He is a CFA Charterholder, a Chartered Wealth Manager, holds the Investment Management Certificate and is a Chartered Member of the CISI. He has an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
For the past two years Mr Bazzaz has also been Chair of the GIFA Managers’ Committee, representing the investment sector locally.
“I am pleased and proud to be appointed CIO, to lead the team and steer our investment strategy. I look forward to building on the solid foundations in place and continuing to deliver positive outcomes for our clients,” he said.
Stuart Perfitt, Executive Chairman, said he’s pleased of the senior team they have at Rocq.
“Since we launched Rocq Capital nine years ago, we have built a formidable team of hand-picked investment managers. Harry was our first recruit and it is timely that he now takes control of the investment process and team as we see a marked increase in business. Much credit goes to John who has successfully ‘captained’ the investment team throughout and now hands over the armband to Harry with the team and company in great shape.”
