Charities and Non-Profit Organisations are invited to attend free support sessions designed to assist with the Guernsey Registry Annual Validation and Office of the Data Protection Authority Return processes.

Support is also being offered by the Revenue Service this year, to help charities and NPOs required to complete a tax return.

The sessions will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 12:00 to 14:00 for three weeks, from next Monday, 19 January, to 4 February, at Les Cotils.

Each session will be open to all charities and NPOs with volunteers on hand to guide attendees through the processes and to answer any questions.

This initiative is run in partnership with the Association of Guernsey Charities, Guernsey Registry, Office of the Data Protection Authority, and Revenue Service.

The deadline for all three submissions is 28 February, so charities are encouraged to attend these sessions to receive support and complete their filings ahead of time, said Kristin Dowling, Development Officer, Association of Guernsey Charities.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Guernsey Registry and the ODPA in delivering these sessions, and we are pleased to welcome Revenue Service joining us this year,” she said. “The uptake of the support sessions has been steady, with over 40 different charities benefiting in 2025. Our aim is to enable charities to focus on their vital causes, so we encourage them to take advantage of these sessions to complete their annual validation and return ahead of time. The involvement of volunteers is also fantastic, with many contributing through Employer Supported Volunteering programs offered by their companies.”

Tina Le Noury from Les Voies School attended last year’s drop-in sessions and found it very useful.

“I would highly recommend anyone who needs to submit a filing on behalf of an organisation to attend one of the drop-in sessions. The team were professional and extremely helpful. I would have struggled to complete the filing without their assistance.”
