To become carbon neutral, PKF Bba carried out an energy audit to understand the extent of its carbon footprint, which is described as the total amount of energy it consumes and the associated emissions created by these activities.

The firm has now focused on reducing the amount of carbon it produces, through various recycling initiatives, as well as using green technologies wherever possible to counterbalance carbon generation.
The 25 employees working at PKF Bba have themselves made “simple changes” such as recycling wherever possible, limiting their paper consumption, reducing relative energy use, and partnering with businesses with similar initiatives to help achieve the firm’s carbon neutral goals.

David Moehle, Partner at PKF Bba, explained: “PKF Bba is based close to the beach at Le Hocq. It’s an area of stunning natural beauty and preserving that splendour through environmental initiatives has always been part of our ethos. Being a carbon neutral business feels like the right thing to do for our immediate environment, but also the wider global issue of climate change.
“Turning 30 as a business is a significant milestone of maturity for any company and being carbon neutral is a grown-up way of affirming our continued commitment to tackling the issues that cause climate change.”
