Senator Le Fondré will attend a series of meetings in New York, New Jersey and Washington D.C. between Tuesday 8 March to Thursday 10 March.
In New York, he will meet US Commercial Services officials and representatives from the British Consulate and attend an event hosted by Jersey Finance.
Senator Le Fondré will then visit New Jersey’s capital, Trenton. There, he will meet Mayor Reed Gusciora to discuss the “important objective” of strengthening historic links with Trenton, which signed a twinning agreement with St. Helier in 2019.
In Washington, Senator Le Fondré will be meeting diplomatic and political representatives and take part in a roundtable discussion about how Jersey can increase its imports and exports to the US.
“Jersey and the United States share a significant historical and cultural relationship that spans centuries,” Senator John Le Fondré said.
“I am delighted to be in the US this week to support the development of this relationship and to reconnect with some key stakeholders we have been unable to meet since the start of the covid-19 pandemic.”
