This comes after a general trend of decline, since a spike in 2020 caused by the pandemic.
Despite the slight increase in jobseeker numbers, the current unemployment figures remain approximately 200 below the pre-pandemic levels seen in 2019.

As of 30 June, the number of people registered as actively seeking work was 30 higher than the previous quarter and 60 higher than a year earlier.
Women made up the majority of those registered, with 350 females compared to 320 males.
Long-term unemployment, defined as those registered for more than twelve months, remained relatively stable.
The total of 170 long-term ASW individuals was 10 lower than the previous quarter and essentially unchanged from a year earlier.

Of the 670 registered jobseekers, 210 were classified as underemployed, meaning they were engaged in some form of paid employment but were seeking more hours.
Nationality data revealed that 9% of those registered were of Portuguese or Madeiran nationality.
