The disruption in Jersey affected the systems used by GP surgeries. Family Nursing and Home Care was also affected.

EMIS patient services, which is used by GP surgeries in Jersey and in the UK for electronic patient records, was out of action, meaning surgeries had no way to access information about their patients.

Retailers struggled to take card payments, with many reporting queues outside ATMs to be able to pay for shopping in town and supermarkets such as Waitrose.

Flights and sailings were able to go on as normal. Jersey Airport’s World Duty Free was closed for a short period.

Today, Sunday 21 July, the Government confirmed that its Modernisation & Digital team had restored frontline services, but that they would continue monitoring the situation.
