Fairway Group has announced the opening of a new Madeira office as it expands its client services in the island.
The firm has had a presence in Madeira since 2018, initially providing operational support to the wider group. It has since grown to serve international clients and businesses seeking to establish a presence in Portugal.
Fairway Madeira’s team has almost doubled in size in the past year, and its services now include company formation and management, accounting and tax compliance, virtual office solutions, visa support, HR, legal and corporate services, as well as yacht registration.
The island offers a “strategic gateway” to the European market, the firm says, combining the credibility of an EU-regulated environment with direct access to the single market, where companies can operate across member states.
“Madeira’s International Business Centre is a hidden gem for international businesses, offering EU access, a desirable lifestyle and Portugal’s favourable tax regime,” said Sara de Sá Leão, Head of Fairway Madeira.
“With its strong ties to Jersey and its dynamic and evolving business landscape, Fairway’s decision to expand its presence here felt like a natural extension, both strategically and culturally.”
The launch event was attended by Fairway’s senior leadership team and regional officials and partners, including Mr Miguel Albuquerque, President of the Regional Government of Madeira, and Ms Ana Filipa Ferreira, Executive Director of Invest Madeira.
