The phones have been recalled by Samsung after the batteries on some of them seemed to explode, a risk which has led airlines such as BA to ban customers from flying with them on transatlantic services.

But on domestic flights you can carry the phone, as long as it is switched off. 

Jersey Airport says that carriers such as British Airways, Blue Islands, EasyJet and FlyBe are just following the advice issued by the Civil Aviation Authority:

“Following issues Samsung has identified with its Galaxy Note 7 mobile phone, the UK Civil Aviation Authority advises airline passengers intending to travel with this phone to ensure it remains switched off for the duration of the flight. The phone should be carried in hand baggage and should not be charged during the flight. Passengers who own the Galaxy Note 7 model should refer to the manufacturer’s website for further advice.”

The Airport is advising passengers with any concerns or questions to contact their airline.
