A hotel which has been a fixture of St Brelade’s coastline for more than 60 years is celebrating being awarded a coveted AA four-star rating.
The Biarritz Hotel received the accolade – an upgrade from its previous three-star status – following a recent inspection.
The hotel has been in business for over 60 years and said it had earned a “loyal following” for its “panoramic views and warm hospitality”.
The four-star rating follows recent upgrades to the decor and facilities to “revitalise” the property, after the hotel “joined forces” with UK hotel group Bespoke Hotels in 2024.
These upgrades included the introduction of a licensed bar stocked with wines, champagnes, beers, spirits and cocktails, and the appointment of a new head chef, who has crafted new menus.
Guest rooms have also been refurbished to “align with the expectations of today’s four-star traveller”.
“We were thrilled to welcome the Biarritz to our group and to add Jersey to our growing portfolio of destinations,” said Haydn Fentum, Chairman of Bespoke Hotels.
“From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the hotel’s breathtaking views and the genuine warmth of its service. It’s been a pleasure working with the Biarritz team, and we see a bright future for the hotel and our partnership.”
“This is a fantastic achievement, and I’m so proud of our team for their dedication and hard work in transforming the hotel,” added Jason Whyte, Hotel Director at the Biarritz.
“I’m also grateful to Bespoke Hotels for their support and guidance throughout the journey. We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with our guests and to welcome them for a truly four-star experience at the Biarritz.”
