Highlands College’s Adult and Community Education (ACE) has announced Amanda Berry as its new Head of Adult and Community Education.
The college said Ms Berry was passionate about ensuring ACE played a vital role in enriching the lives of islanders, with a “clear and ambitious vision” for the future of lifelong learning in Jersey.
In her role, she will focus on “empowering learners to lead fulfilling lives through creativity and flexible learning”, and foster a “dynamic, accessible and inclusive space”.
The college said Ms Berry’s appointment reflected her “dedication” to education and the Jersey community.
She has spent more than 14 years living and working in the island, and brings a background in training, development and community support to her new role.
Ms Berry said Adult and Community Education was about “so much more” than just learning, adding that it was also about “confidence, creativity, connection and community”.
She added: “My vision is for ACE to inspire, include, and enrich the lives of everyone who walks through our doors, whether they’re picking up a new hobby, upskilling for employment, or simply meeting like-minded people.
“I’m absolutely over the moon to step into this role. In just a few weeks, I’ve already been inspired by the energy of our tutors and the enthusiasm of our learners.”
