A former Jersey Financial Services Commission manager has launched an independent advisory and operational leadership firm that has published new research on artificial intelligence and the future of fund administration.
Prospero Advisory was recently founded by Paul Monahan, whose professional background spans nearly two decades in Jersey’s finance sector.
In addition to working as a manager within the JFSC’s funds authorisation team, the bulk of his experience comprises time in senior positions at administration businesses, including Apex Group and Langham Hall.

Mr Monahan also brings twelve years of board experience as a non-executive director and chair across fund, corporate and trustee structures.
To coincide with the launch, Prospero – which is now working with clients across the Island’s fund and fiduciary sector – has published its first research paper.

The document, titled ‘The Intelligent Firm’, examines how AI will change the operating model for fund administrators and corporate service providers and what leadership teams should do now.
Mr Monahan said: “Regulated firms in Jersey are under real pressure to raise governance standards and modernise their operations at the same time, and increasingly to do both while adopting AI responsibly.”
He continued: “I have run these businesses, regulated them and sat on their boards, so I know how they work from every side of the table.
“Prospero exists to give boards, managers and investors practical, decision-ready support grounded in how these businesses actually run, and The Intelligent Firm is our opening contribution to that conversation.”
