A director in Mourant Governance Service’s Jersey client accounting team was recently recognised at an awards ceremony in London after achieving the highest grade globally in the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment’s Islamic Finance Qualification exam in 2025.
Kalpana Piradeepan said the award – which she collected earlier this week at the CISI awards ceremony – “reflects my commitment to continually developing my technical knowledge in this increasingly important area of finance”.

“I am extremely proud to have achieved the highest global grade in the CISI Islamic Finance Qualification,” she added.
“Islamic finance plays a vital role in global markets, and I am delighted to have my efforts recognised by CISI. I would also like to thank the firm and my colleagues for their continued support.”
Ms Piradeepan’s achievement comes not long after Josie Ewing, from Mourant’s Jersey client services team, was awarded the International Finance and Administration Level five Financial Reporting and Governance Prize for achieving the highest result in the November 2025 exam session.
IFA qualifications are awarded by the Chartered Governance Institute UK and Ireland.
