The Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands has strengthened the “collective skills” of its board of trustees with the appointment of an experienced health and care leader.
Claire White, a registered nurse and the director of governance and care at Family Nursing & Home Care, will support the Foundation’s work to fund, assist and champion charities in the Channel Islands that help people who are socially excluded and disadvantaged.
She holds more than 25 years’ experience across clinical practice, healthcare regulation, governance, quality improvement and strategic leadership.
Additionally, Ms White contributes to a number of governance and community initiatives outside of her professional responsibilities, including serving on the States of Jersey Complaints Panel and Jersey’s Health and Care Partnership Board.
She also volunteers as a safeguarding officer for the Jersey Rugby Club.
Her appointment strengthens the board’s collective skills and ensures we continue to have the knowledge and oversight required to support an increasingly professionalised charitable sector

Ms White said that the Lloyds Bank Foundation “plays a vital role in supporting charities and communities across the Channel Islands”.
She continued: “Its commitment to helping organisations respond to local needs and create lasting positive impact makes a real difference.
“I am delighted to be joining the board and look forward to supporting the Foundation’s work alongside fellow trustees and the team.”
Since its establishment in 1985, the Foundation has distributed more than £26 million and provided developmental support, including charity mentoring to help charities improve their resilience and sustainability.
Philippa Stahelin, who chairs the Foundation, said it was “delighted” to welcome Ms White to its board of trustees.
She added: “Her appointment strengthens the board’s collective skills and ensures we continue to have the knowledge and oversight required to support an increasingly professionalised charitable sector.
“We are delighted that she has chosen to join the Foundation, and we look forward to benefiting from her knowledge, experience, and passion as we continue our work across the Bailiwicks.”
