The course, entitled ‘Essential Jersey Employment Law for Managers’, is the product of a partnership between Voisin Law and Compass.
It is aimed at managers across all industry sectors, and aims to give them an understanding of local employment legislation and how it impacts them as a people manager.
The course, which costs £895 and consists of four three-hour sessions in October and November, is being run by Voisin Law’s Dexter Flynn (pictured), co-author of the Jersey Employment Law Chapter of the Practical Law Company’s ‘Labour and Employee Benefits Handbook’, and Compass Managing Director Jacqui Richards.
They will ensure everyone is up-to-speed on last year’s changes to the Discrimination (Jersey) Law 2012, which added disability to the list of existing protected characteristics, and saw the removal of retirement age from the Age Discrimination Regulations 2016.
Commenting on the course, Mr Flynn said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Compass again to offer some really sound advice to managers and help them understand the changes and ensure they are following the right procedures to remain compliant with the Law.”
