Lisa Ronayne will be responsible for all regulatory aspects of the firm’s international business.
She has experience in the banking, trust, funds and investment management industries originally in operational and front office roles, and for the last 15 years within compliance functions.
Ms Ronayne said: “I am delighted to have an opportunity to join a firm of Smith & Williamson’s calibre. The firm’s outlook is so fresh and client-led that it introduces great opportunities to find new solutions and work with people who are experts in their field, all within an organization of real scale and substance.”
Her appointment follows the establishment of Smith & Williamson International Limited in Jersey last year after decades of providing investment services offshore from their London headquarters.
Aiden McAvinue, a founding director of the new regulated investments business, said: “We are thrilled that someone of Lisa’s experience and breadth has chosen to join the Smith & Williamson family, especially given the demand for nimble, responsive and well informed reaction to regulatory developments impacting our clients and prospective relationships.”
