Professional services firm EY Jersey has appointed a new Tax Director to work within its leadership team.

Laura Turpin is returning to the firm after initially joining in 2015 as a part of EY Jersey’s graduate training programme.

A former Jersey Women’s Rugby player who is now a ICAS and CTA qualified accountant, Ms Turpin specialises in economic substance, Multinational Corporate Income Tax (MCIT) and Jersey’s approach to Pillar 2 taxation.

She said: “I’m delighted to rejoin EY. I have such fond memories of beginning my career here and I’m looking forward to working with and supporting the fantastic team we have across the islands.

“I’m keen to contribute to the firm’s continued success and to work with our clients as they navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead, particularly when it comes to the implementation of Pillar 2.”

Áine Slater, EY Tax Partner and Head of Tax in Jersey, added: “I’m delighted to have Laura back on the team.

“Her experience with Jersey tax matters, particularly Jersey’s approaches to economic substance and Pillar 2, and the insights she brings will be invaluable to our clients as they continue to navigate these complex regimes.”
