Commissioned by campaign group Birds on the Edge and the National Trust, the artwork was unveiled in April and aims to highlight the challenges the species face and how it can be protected.

It comes after the National Trust won one of the Excellence Awards at the recent INTO Conference in Dundee for its Puffin Sculptures and Puppet Show.

On their recent Construction Awards success, the National Trust said: “We’re delighted that the Willow Puffins won this year’s ‘Project of the Year under 2 million’ award at the Jersey Construction Council Awards on Saturday.

“Thanks to everyone involved in delivering this beautiful project, a timely piece of public art that reminds us of the critical plight of our real puffins.”

Steve Jewell, Chair of the Construction Awards Sub-Committee, said: “I am delighted that new organisations entered the awards this year with up-and-coming business Phoenix Construction winning both the Health & Safety Award and Business of the Year with over ten employees.

“Also, it is great to see another new winner with Bellpumps winning the Innovation Award for their new business model.”
