Fiduciary firm Cavenwell Group has announced it has appointed Rory Forrest as General Counsel.

With a background that spans private practice, in-house leadership, and international compliance, Mr Forrest brings a “wealth of experience” advising sophisticated clients on corporate governance, risk management and regulatory matters.

He is the Founder and Principal of FractionGC, a consultancy providing senior legal support on a flexible basis to financial services organisations.

A qualified Jersey Advocate (non-practising), Chartered Governance Professional (ACG) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E), Mr Forrest most recently served as Chief Legal Officer at Mourant, where he led legal strategy across the group.

He joins in a fractional capacity, following a period of collaboration with Cavenwell on strategic legal and governance initiatives.

Mr Forrest will advise the firm on legal and regulatory matters, including corporate governance, data protection and strategic legal risk, ensuring the firm’s “legal architecture continues to evolve in line with its international growth”.

Founder and CEO of Cavenwell Group Andrew Horbury said: “We’re delighted to welcome Rory more formally into the Cavenwell team.

“He’s already played a key role in helping us shape and strengthen our governance and legal frameworks, and his values, judgement, and commercial mindset are deeply aligned with our entrepreneurial culture.”

Mr Forrest added: “Cavenwell is a firm I’ve enjoyed working alongside for some time now.

“Their clarity of purpose, focus on execution, and willingness to do things differently make this a particularly exciting partnership.

“I’m looking forward to contributing more deeply as the firm enters its next phase of growth.”
