Two Seymour Hotels employees are celebrating career milestones having collectively reached 75 years of service with the group.
Duncan Clark, Restaurant Manager at the Pomme d’Or Hotel’s Harbour Room Restaurant, joined the company in May 1980, marking 45 years of service.
Filomena Nunes, Housekeeping Supervisor at the Pomme d’Or Hotel, has reached 30 years of service after joining in March 1995.
Mr Clark began his career at Hotel de la Plage as a commis wine waiter, working his way up to Restaurant Manager. When Hotel de la Plage closed, he transitioned to the Portelet Hotel as Head Barman, where his “charisma and guest rapport continued to shine”, the hotel group said.
Following the acquisition of the Watersplash, Mr Clark opened the new beach bar and diner.
In April 2008, he brought his wealth of experience to the Pomme d’Or Hotel, where he served as Head Barman. His role has since expanded into the restaurant and outside catering departments, and he now leads the Food and Beverage team in the hotel’s restaurant.
The hotel group said Mr Clark is “deeply respected for his positivity, consistency and team spirit”.
“His bubbly personality and infectious energy light up every room he enters, making both guests and staff feel truly welcome,” it added.
Ms Nunes started her career as a Room Attendant before being promoted to Housekeeping Supervisor in 2000.
Seymour Hotels says she has a “genuine passion for hospitality” and “strong commitment to excellence” within the Housekeeping department. She has mentored and supported many team members over the years as a “trusted guide and motivator”.
She also played a “crucial role” in training seasonal staff, particularly those who joined the Pomme d’Or post-covid in 2021 and 2022.
In February 2025, Ms Nunes was named Employee of the Month. She was also a finalist for the Housekeeping Supervisor Award in the Hotel Housekeeping Honours (HHH) 2025 in the UK.
Matt Seymour, Managing Director, Seymour Hotels said: “Duncan’s extraordinary length of service is a testament to his loyalty, integrity, and deep passion for hospitality.
“He represents everything that makes great customer service truly memorable – genuine warmth, unwavering dedication, and connection from the heart.
“We can think of no one more deserving of recognition and celebration.”
Speaking on Ms Nunes’ achievement, Mr Seymour added: “Highly respected and deeply appreciated, Filomena remains a true role model – an embodiment of loyalty, positivity and excellence.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate her remarkable journey and her unwavering commitment to the Pomme d’Or Hotel.”
