The ADCH & Petplan Charity Awards shine a well‑deserved spotlight on the incredible people working tirelessly within animal welfare charities across the UK and beyond. These awards celebrate passion, dedication and teamwork – values that sit at the very heart of everything the GSPCA does.

We are incredibly proud – and genuinely humbled – to have attended these awards in the past, as well as other similar ceremonies, and to have seen our work recognised both as a charity and through individual nominations. To be acknowledged by supporters, peers and the wider animal welfare community means more to us than words can express.

Recognising Incredible People Making a Real Difference

The Petplan Charity Awards allow supporters to vote in three important categories:

  • Team of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Employee of the Year

These categories highlight just how vital every role is within an animal welfare charity. From frontline animal care and rescue, to fundraising, education, maintenance, fostering and administration – saving and improving animal lives is always a team effort.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has taken the time to recognise the work of the GSPCA over the years, whether that’s as a team or through individual nominations. Our staff and volunteers work exceptionally hard, often behind the scenes and in difficult circumstances, driven by compassion for animals and a commitment to animal welfare. To see that dedication acknowledged through national awards like these is deeply humbling.”

At the GSPCA, we are fortunate to have:

  • dedicated staff team who go above and beyond every day, often in challenging and emotionally demanding situations
  • An amazing group of volunteers who generously give their time, skills and energy to support animals in need
  • Supporters and partners who help us continue our work through donations, fundraising and encouragement

Seeing charities from across the ADCH (Association of Dogs and Cats Homes) recognised at these awards is always inspiring and reminds us just how much dedication and compassion exists within the animal welfare sector.

From Your Vote to the National Stage

Voting for the awards helps recognise the hard work that so often goes unseen. Finalists from across the country will be celebrated at the ADCH Conference in May, which this year is being held in Telford – a fantastic opportunity to share best practice, learn from one another and celebrate everything animal welfare teams achieve.

Whether it’s a volunteer who always steps up when help is needed, an employee who treats every animal as if they were their own, or a team that works seamlessly under pressure, your vote truly does make a difference.

Please Take a Moment to Vote

If you have ever supported the GSPCA, visited our shelter, adopted an animal, volunteered with us or simply followed our work, we would be incredibly grateful if you could take a few moments to vote in the Team, Volunteer, and Employee categories.

Every vote helps celebrate the compassion, dedication and kindness that drives animal welfare forward – not just at the GSPCA, but across all the wonderful charities involved.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping recognise the people who work every day to give animals the care and second chances they deserve.
