Members of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides are once again getting prepared for another exciting Spring Walking Festival.
Starting on May 24th and spanning over 16 days, a jam-packed schedule of guiding walking tours has been put together with 55 tours on offer, including a number of brand new routes for 2025.
All tours are given a level of difficulty (easy, moderate and hike) and an indication of how long it will take and the distance covered. We aim to provide an interesting and varied programme with walks taking place across Guernsey, Herm and Sark and with a wide variety of subject matters.
Some of the new tours this festival are “Sark, North by North West” and “Beaucette to Bunker Hill and Back” with Malcolm Cleal, “A Family Split By War” and “Potato Peel Pie Society Revealed” with Eric Grimsley, “Wending Our Way Out West” and “Treasured Tracks of the Castel” with Andy Walker, “Waste and Water – A Useful Legacy?” with Ken Wheeler, “Picnic at Pleinmont” with Nicky Terry, “Food & Culture Experience Tour” and “The Wonders of L’Eree” with Korinne Le Page, “Submerged St Saviour’s” with Yan Marquis, “The Road to Freedom” with Jo May, “St Peter Port’s Heart Unveiled” with Bryan Pill and “From A Little Chapel in a Valley t0 a Mill on a Hill” with Soo Wellfair.
Two particularly notable new tours are “An Amble In Sight of Les Hanois Lighthouse” with Bryan Pill has been created with wheelchair users in mind.
Michelle Le Clerc’s “Privates, Smugglers and Privateers – our own Horrible Histouaire” is a fun family tour, aimed at youngsters!
