Members of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides are once again getting prepared for another exciting Autumn Walking Festival.
Starting on September 13 and spanning over 16 days, a jam-packed schedule of guiding walking tours has been put together with 35+ tours on offer, including a number of brand new routes for 2025.
All tours are given a level of difficulty (easy, moderate and hike) and an indication of how long it will take and the distance covered. We aim to provide an interesting and varied programme with walks taking place across Guernsey, Herm and Sark and with a wide variety of subject matters.
Some of the new tours this festival are “The Vale Castle: The Bastion of the North” with Andy Walker “Start to Finish (St Peter Port)” with Simon De La Rue, “GY1 Ghostly & Ghastly” with Jo May, and “Last Man Hanging” with Jackie Ward.
This year’s festival also sees the return of Soo Wellfair’s popular “All Aboard The Ghost Train” on September 24 (please note a change of date to the printed schedule). This tour is ideal for those who wish to take part in the festival on a non-walking tour as participants will listen to Soo’s spooky guided tour of St Peter Port while riding the Petit Train. Tickets are available directly from Petit Train Gsy at www.petitrain.gg
As always there will also be an opportunity for some “island hopping” with tours taking place in Herm and Sark as well as Lihou.
Walkers looking for something a little different can try Rosalyne Le Huray’s “Town With a Christmas Twist” tour on 18 September.
Details of all tours including dates, times, locations, difficulty, price, bus routes etc can be found HERE.
