The National Trust for Jersey and Jersey Hospice Care are excited to announce the launch of this year’s 30 Bays Summer Challenge – celebrating 10 years of the popular coastal fundraiser!

To mark the anniversary, and the extension of the challenge from the end of July to the end of August following success last year, we’ve renamed the event the ’30 Bays Summer Challenge”.

New for this year is our scavenger hunt, ‘Tide & Seek’. Search for the hidden symbols on our 30 Bays signs and check them off your list!

The challenge is all about making it your own and enjoying the wellbeing and physical benefits of connecting to the coast. To compliment that ethos, there are several ways participants can complete it, as Liana Summers-Shaw, Fundraising Officer for the National Trust for Jersey, explains: “30 Bays is all about appreciating Jersey’s beautiful coastline and enjoying nature. If you like a fast-paced challenge, you could swim at every bay within thirty days as per the original 30 Bays or take a more leisurely pace over the two-month event window. You can also just visit the bays for Tide & Seek, take a photo, or simply enjoy a mindful moment. ”

Marina Brockbank, Community Engagement Officer at Jersey Hospice Care, reiterated why it’s so important to keep fundraising at the heart of 30 Bays: “Events like the 30 Bays Summer Challenge are vital in helping both charities continue providing specialist services which can benefit the whole island. Every person who takes part is not only enriching their own wellbeing but also making a real difference to out two amazing charities. It’s a wonderful way to come together, enjoy Jersey’s coastline, and support causes that touch so many lives.”

Jersey Hospice Care and the National Trust for Jersey would like to thank Fairway Group for sponsoring this year’s fundraiser.Aleisha Stilwell, Head of Marketing & Business Development at Fairway Group, said “We’re proud to sponsor the 30 Bays Summer Challenge as it marks its 10th anniversary. It’s a fantastic island initiative supporting two charities that make a meaningful difference across Jersey. The National Trust for Jersey plays a vital role in protecting and preserving the coastline we all value, while Jersey Hospice Care provides invaluable support to Islanders and their families during some of life’s most challenging times. As a Jersey business, giving back to the community is incredibly important to us. We encourage everyone to get involved, enjoy our beautiful bays and take part this summer.”

The Opening Swim event will be held on Sunday 28 June at 10:00 at Grève de Lecq and the charities invite participants or those wishing to sign up to attend, to start off the challenge with a splash.
