Leading Channel Island creative and digital marketing agency Oi has gone pink to show its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month – a worldwide campaign highlighting the importance of breast cancer awareness, education and research.
The branding across the agency’s website, social media channels and email signatures switched to vibrant pink this month with teams in Guernsey and Jersey wearing pink today, along with the office dogs Dolly and Dilly who wore matching pink bandanas!
Every year for the past 17 years, hundreds of thousands of people have taken part and worn pink for Breast Cancer Now – Wear it pink – fundraising day on 19 October. The charity has raised £31.5 million to date.
One of the Oi team was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Her early diagnosis led to successful treatment and ongoing care from the Breast Unit at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey and the Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Support Group.
1 in 8 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, but thanks to early detection, continued research and prevention education, survival of cancer is improving and has doubled in the past 40 years.
