Advocates’ ‘free’ sessions will benefit charity

Wednesday 04 January 2017

With a traditional upsurge in couples seeking legal advice in January, one local law firm hopes it’s come up with a solution that will not only benefit clients but charity as well.

Benest Corbett Renouf is hosting confidential, free-of-charge, 30 minute appointments in the evening in January and February, and asking for a donation of £10.

Money raised will go to Brighter Futures – a charity that supports parents, carers, children and young people in Jersey.

According to Advocate Nicholas Le Quesne, “...January is always a busy time of year for family lawyers to receive queries about ending relationships – and we don’t expect 2017 to be any different. Christmas and the New Year inevitably cause people to reflect on their personal lives. Often, decisions which have been put off in the preceding months come to mind, as families typically spend more time with each other than usual.”
