Facilities management company AFM has promoted its business development and PR manager to the post of Commercial Manager.
As part of the newly formed commercial team, Karen Girdlestone’s primary role will be to deliver internal projects that accelerate AFM’s ability to achieve its goals in terms of service, growth and profitability. Ms Girdlestone will also maintain responsibility for business development, marketing, PR and communications activity.
Commenting on her appointment Ms Girdlestone says, “...my aim is to nurture the growth, strategy and marketing needs of new and current services for both Guernsey and Jersey, in line with AFM’s business plan.”
“Having worked in various countries around the world, I have become attuned to the needs and perspectives of others. This will enable me to work closely with our operational and shared services teams to embed new ways of working that enhance service delivery to our clients.”
AFM’s commercial director, Ben Le Huray, added: “As a growing and diversifying business, it is essential that we have the right structure in place in order to create positive change and innovation. Karen has proved over the four years that she has worked for us that she is highly organised, knowledgeable and effective. Karen will be an invaluable member of the commercial team.”
