Bellingham Travel expands its team

Thursday 09 January 2014

Bellingham Business Travel has appointed swahili speaker Aysha Baluchi as a Business Travel Consultant.

Her role is a newly-created position designed to support the significant increase in corporate travel accounts that Bellingham has acquired in recent months. Aysha will work alongside Bellingham’s Business Travel Manager, Lynda Andrews, and two other colleagues from the company’s offices on Bath Street in St Helier. Collectively, the team has more than 120 years of global business travel experience.

Aysha is a highly knowledgeable travel professional, having worked in Jersey for British Airways for the last five years as a Customer Service Agent at the Island’s airport. Prior to this, and before enjoying a career break to bring up her young family, she spent nearly 12 years based in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, as Reservations and Ticketing Manager for Gulf Air. As well as enjoying responsibility for the daily operation of Gulf Air’s Head Office and a team of 25 staff there, she was also a regular speaker at industry conferences across the Gulf Region.

She holds a wide range of travel industry qualifications and is also fluent in Swahili. Her language skills and knowledge of Africa will be of particular benefit to Bellingham Business Travel’s large number of international mining clients who operate in that region.

Commenting on her appointment, Aysha said: “Bellingham Business Travel has an exceptional reputation in Jersey, and I am very excited to be joining the team at such an important time during its expansion. I am looking forward to putting my skills and experience to good use supporting Bellingham Travel’s clients in the future.”

Bellingham’s Business Travel Manager, Lynda Andrews, commented: “Aysha’s dynamic and outgoing personality, coupled with her vast knowledge of international travel, are an asset to Bellingham but also to our clients. She is a welcome addition to our team and I look forward to our continued expansion in Jersey with her on board.”
