Board and management restructure at Romerils

Monday 17 November 2014

A series of management changes have recently been implemented at Romerils, the locally owned and managed retail home living store and supplier to the commercial plumbing, heating and building industry.

After 50 years in the business, Norris Syvret is retiring as Non-Executive Chairman. His son, Mark, will take over as Executive Chairman and Steve Jewell has been promoted from sales director to Managing Director.

Mark Temple will continue in his role as administration and IT director. Dave Edge has been appointed to the senior management team as operations manager, with overall responsibility for warehousing, facilities and stock management.

All four have worked in the business for over 25 years, operating in various management positions.

Commenting on the new management structure, Mr Syvret said, “Although my father has been less involved in the business recently, it really is a landmark in Romerils’ history that he is retiring as Chairman. I know I speak for existing staff, management and past colleagues when I say he has been a huge influence on many people in our business, and for that matter externally with customers and suppliers."

This was echoed by Mr Jewell who said "Norris first employed me as a 17-year-old graduate from Highlands College. He has been a massive influence on my career and management style. We will no doubt be marking the occasion properly at Romerils, then it's back to the business of continuing the great success story that Norris started many years ago at Romerils."
