IT Consultant becomes one of the youngest to earn International Diploma

Tuesday 21 March 2017

Matt Parker has become one of the youngest people in the Channel Islands to earn his BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, at just 22 years old.

To achieve the qualification, Mr Parker successfully completed four written exams and an intensive hour-long oral exam with industry experts.

He plans to continue to expand his knowledge by undertaking a further qualification, this time in Project Management.

Mr Parker said: “As a Business Analyst, I’m fortunate to bridge the gap between the business and technical side of the organisation, which means my day can be very varied. It’s fulfilling to be able to help local businesses get to grips with new and innovative technology, and the knowledge gained from my diploma will allow me to do this much more effectively.

Mr Parker joined C5 Alliance in 2015 as an intern and developed skills in several areas across the business, before being offered a full-time role as part of the Project Management team.

He said: “Being one of very few Business Analysts working for C5, I’m proud to be able to fill what was a bit of a ‘gap in the market’, and I’d like to personally thank C5 Consultant, David Toney for his insight and guidance throughout the process.”

Speaking about Mr Parker’s success, Ceri Riddett, Director of HR at C5 Alliance, said: “Matt has shown great enthusiasm and commitment in achieving this qualification, which is a well-deserved result and garners huge congratulations from all of us at C5. Matt’s progression is a great example of C5’s passion to nurture the new generation of IT experts across the Channel Islands through professional qualifications, knowledge sharing and the development of expertise. Encouraging a culture of mentorship between our more experienced IT experts and younger team members also provides a rewarding experience to everyone involved.”
