The head of a professional body formed in the Island earlier this year has joined the Lavender Villa Group.
Gail Lupton has been appointed project manager to manage the strategic operation of Lavender Villa Home Care and the expansion of Lavender Villa Residential.
In March, Ms Lupton was voted chairwoman of the British Association of Social Workers in Jersey, a new branch of the national body, set up to support local social workers and the growing social care needs throughout Jersey. Over her 24-year career she has held a number of management roles in the statutory, voluntary and private care sectors.
Ms Lupton said: “I am very proud of my new role; the care industry in Jersey is rapidly growing and there are some key opportunities on the Island. I hope to bring some of my skills, experience and knowledge of the personalisation and self-directed support agenda, which I aim to underpin with my professionalism and dedication.’
In her role, she will oversee and monitor the existing care provided to clients and develop projects to expand the current portfolio of services. Her duties include developing group homes for people with long-term complex care needs, looking at early intervention for people experiencing difficulties and ensuring care needs are met by a professional team of carers.
Christopher Shelton, Director of Lavender Villa Group said: “I am very pleased with Gail’s appointment, her experience and dedication to the industry is exemplary. Her familiarity within the industry will ensure Lavender Villa Group will continue to set the bar in terms of service level and care.”
