Carey Olsen launches celebrity charity dinner

Friday 20 March 2015

Two-Michelin Star Mayfair chef Atul Kochhar and celebrated Jersey-born wine expert Olly Smith are coming to the Island to host a charity dinner in aid of Jersey Hospice Care and Jersey Alzheimer's Association and organised by Carey Olsen.

Mr Kochhar regularly appears on BBC Saturday Kitchen and met the Queen on a state visit with the President of India. He has cooked for Prince Charles at St James' Palace and is a passionate supporter of children's charities.

Mr Smith also regularly appears on BBC Saturday Kitchen and is listed in Debrett's 500 2015 which recognises people of influence and achievement in British society. His wine bar on board P&O Cruise ship Azura won Best Bar at Sea in 2011 and 2012.

The evening will begin with a champagne and canapés reception followed by a five-course modern Indian cuisine menu created and introduced by Mr Kochhar on Thursday 30 April at the Royal Yacht Hotel. Each course will be accompanied by a different wine selected by Mr Smith who will explain how each glass complements each course.

Mr Kochhar will be accompanied by his two senior chefs from Benares who will be working with Steve Walker, head chef at the Royal Yacht Hotel, and his team.

Carey Olsen managing partner, Alex Ohlsson, said: "This promises to be a highly-entertaining evening with a fantastic menu created by two highly-acclaimed experts in aid of two very worthwhile charities. We hope it will become an annual event in support of our chosen charities."

Tickets are on sale from Carey Olsen at £175 each. There will also be an auction and raffle in aid of the two local charities. Dress code for the evening is business attire.
