Since being elected in 2014, he held the post of Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture with responsibility for culture and heritage. He was also responsible for Trading Standards and Consumer Affairs and the Channel Island Lottery, as well as sitting on the panel for the Housing and Work Advisory Group.

He commented: "I am passionate about promoting and enabling commerce in Jersey. Chamber exists to support, inform and enable its Members to contribute to a buoyant economy, which benefits the whole island. I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Chief Executive of Chamber. As a businessman myself, I understand the challenges faced by our Members and having worked within the States Chamber, I offer a unique insight on how to get results for commerce through effective engagement with our Government and look forward to representing Chamber members."
