Co-op appoints new Chief Marketing and Membership Officer

Tuesday 14 November 2023

Channel Islands Co-op has appointed a new Marketing and Membership Officer to its executive leadership team.

David McGrath – who previously held a senior position at Jersey Post and has over 25 years' experience in marketing, communications, and public relations – joined the community retailer at the start of this month.

In his new role, Mr McGrath is responsible for the vision, leadership, strategic direction, and performance of all Co-op marketing activities.

He is challenged with putting customers and members at the heart of all campaigns and driving creativity within the Society's marketing activity and branding, as well as modernising the Coop's membership experience and engagement.

Mr McGrath said: "My primary focus will revolve around elevating the customer experience by developing the loyalty offering for our members.

"I'm looking forward to furthering the company's mission and building on the established reputation Coop has across the Channel Islands."

Mark Cox, CEO at Channel Island Co-op, added: "Bringing David on board reflects our commitment to consumer experience, innovation, and marketing.

"The transformation we are driving, particularly for our members, will benefit hugely from a hire of David's calibre.

"Without doubt, he will create a culture in which his team will thrive, and our customers and members will benefit.

"His leadership and strategic skill set will strengthen Co-op as we work to continue to be at the heart of island life."
