Conference aims to promote better leadership in Jersey

A major conference on leadership is to be held in Jersey next month, with key note speeches from the former MD of Metro Bank, and one from the former Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council and advisor to the UK Prime Minister.
The title is 'Leadership - The Future', and it's being organised by a not-for-profit organisation, Leadership Jersey, which is headed by Kevin Keen.
The conference will take place on 20th October 2016 at the Pomme D’Or Hotel and Royal Yacht Hotel.
Speakers include Chris Brindley who is a former Managing Director of Metro bank, has won multiple awards and is currently Chairman of the charity Greater Sport and an independent non-executive director of Manchester Football Association and the Rugby Football League.
Delegates will also be hearing from Sir David Henshaw who was the Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council from 1999 to 2006, a former adviser to the Prime Minister’s delivery unit and adviser to the Cabinet Office Strategy unit.
Other speakers are:
- Michelle Johansen - a Professional Certified Coach who founded the Women’s Development Forum (WDF) in 2009 www.wdforum.org, which has held over 90 events in both islands.
- Emma Pannenborg has just completed her Honours degree in Business and Management at the University College Jersey (UCJ) in Partnership with Plymouth University. As part of her final year dissertation she undertook research into leadership development in Jersey and will be sharing some of her findings at the conference.
- Katherine Salt has been professionally social since 2010 when she discovered the benefits of social media for her bricks and clicks business Plums Lingerie.
- Graham Scrivener is the European Managing Director of Kotter International, www.kotterinternational.com the consulting firm established in 2007 by Dr John Kotter, Emeritus Professor of Leadership at Harvard Business School.
- Mark Spelman is an international business leader who worked at Accenture for 26 years where he was Global Head of Strategy & Global Managing Director for Thought Leadership.
- Richard Summerfield is Group HR Director of JT Global www.jtglobal.com, Fellow of CIPD, accredited career coach, qualified psychometric tester, industry speaker and commentator.
- Hazel Thomson began her career in management consulting with Accenture and continued her interest in leading people through change by pursuing senior Human Resources and organisation development roles.
- Alexsis Wintour is founder and Managing Director of Marbral Advisory www.marbraladvisory.com
