Islanders are being reminded that they have the chance to have their say on plans to turn the Ports of Jersey from a government department into a States-owned company.
The consultation on the incorporation of the ports, which has been open since 29 May and is scheduled to close on 15 August, has already received some responses, the majority of which have been positive. As well as commenting via email and post, Islanders are also being invited to submit their views and find out more about the Ports incorporation at a series of public meetings.
The public meetings will take place at the Albert Terminal tonight, at the Airport arrivals hall next Wednesday, at the Royal Jersey Agricultural & Horticultural Society in Trinity on Wednesday 23 July, and back at the Albert Terminal again on Wednesday 6 August.
All the meetings take place from 7 pm to 9 pm.
Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean said: "Ports of Jersey have done a tremendous amount of work in informing and engaging those likely to be directly affected by the incorporation, and I believe this is reflected in the responses that have been made to the consultation so far.
“I hope that everybody who has an interest in the incorporation of the ports will respond to the consultation so that their views can be taken into consideration."
Any group that wants to arrange a separate meeting to address a specific concern can email the Ports of Jersey team portsincorporation@gov.je to set something up.
