Local IT solutions company, Corefocus, has hired Junior Developer Harri Smith following a successful work-based learning period.
Mr Smith joined Corefocus as part of his FdA Business and Mangement / FdSc Information Technology for Business at Highlands and impressed the IT company so much they offered him a bursary and continued employment.
At Corefocus Mr Smith will be an undergraduate junior developer. Corefocus hopes this will help him gain valuable real-life office experience as he continues to study and develop his skills, ready for him to return to the company full-time, once his studies are complete.
“We are very excited to have Harri on board," Matt van Sanden, Managing Director of Corefocus, said. "He is a talented developer and will be a great addition to our team. Harri’s education on his course is invaluable, coupled with experience Harri has working at Corefocus will develop his knowledge and amplify his skills.”
Mr Smith is now the fourth successful candidate to achieve a work placement and bursary at Corefocus. The team, who are keen to support the growing digital talent in Jersey, have said they will be on the lookout for other talented individuals next year.
