Jersey Post is to close the post office within the CostCutter at Bagatelle Parade, at the end of this month.
It says that due to expiry of the existing lease, CostCutter will be closing the shop altogether on 30 October.
Jersey Post currently 'outsources' 19 of the post offices within its network to partners and retailers including CostCutter, Sandpiper and the Channel Island Cooperative Society.
Tim Brown, Jersey Post Chief Executive said, “We are conscious that the post office at Five Oaks is very much part of the community and obviously we’re very disappointed that the service can no longer continue within its current location. We’re hoping that in spite of the shop closure, there may be an alternative location for the post office within the Five Oaks area. We would be very interested to hear from anyone who feels they might be in a position to house the post office when the current service terminates on 30 October 2016.”
