A local maritime recruitment firm has become the first known company in Jersey to receive all four ISO standards.
Channel Shipping Services received the information management certifications following a three-day audit.
Conducted by the British Assessment Bureau Limited, the audit covered the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Management (QHSE) standards. CSS were praised in particular for their fast reaction to covid-19.
In addition to a recommendation for re-certification, it also makes CSS the first known company in Jersey to receive all four ISO standards for QHSE and Information Security Management.
CSS’ QHSE/Office Manager Elaine Feltham said: “This has been a difficult year in the Offshore Recruitment industry, but we have been able to maintain a high standard and all the hard work and commitment by all employees has finally paid off."
Operations Director Christopher Inns added: “CSS have managed to maintain the three QHSE standards since November 2016. This involves completing vigorous checks annually by external auditors, therefore ensuring that we raise the bar every time in order to be the best in our field."
It comes after the company was targeted by hackers who stole private information about family members, ID details and travel itineraries via three security breaches across 2018 and 2019.
The company vowed to strengthen its data management practices after the breaches emerged.
