Digital group elects new Chairman

Tuesday 28 January 2014

Ronnie Isherwood has taken over as Chairman of BCS Jersey, vowing to keep the group at the heart of Jersey's digital industries.

He replaces Tim Bullock, who served as Chairman for five years, and will now remain on the committee. Mr Isherwood is well known within the Channel Islands’ IT community. He has written and co-authored several technical guides and is a director of technology consultancy, R I Technology Limited.

He commented:  “It’s an honour to have been elected Chairman of BCS Jersey. I will do my upmost to continue the excellent work that Tim has undertaken over the past five years and which has ensured that BCS is at the heart of the island’s digital community. On behalf of all members, I would like to thank him for his service.

“The island will face many challenges as it strives to become a centre for digital technology. As a professional organisation, the BCS can not only inform and advise but it can play a key role in educating and helping to develop Jersey’s digital sector. I’m looking forward to working with all of my committee colleagues and BCS members to ensure that Jersey achieves its ambitions and develops into a leading digital community.”

Mr Isherwood was elected at the group's recent AGM; at the same meeting, Matt Palmer was elected Treasurer and Paul Dutot, Secretary.
