Visit Jersey has launched a website for 'Events Jersey' to inspire event organisers and associations to consider hosting their events in Jersey.
They have worked with local agency, Switch Digital, to create a website for the events sector, showcasing the most relevant and engaging features of Jersey to inspire the meetings, incentives, conferencing and events (MICE) industry.
Lyndon Farnham, Minister, Economic Development Tourism and Culture commented: "Events present an important opportunity to raise the productivity of the sector on a year-round basis and increase tourism export earnings. Leveraging on the success of events such as the Super League Triathlon we are keen to inspire even more events to come to Jersey. Events enhance the island's international reputation and the Events Jersey website provides a shop window to showcase our island's events capabilities and potential."

Meryl Le Feuvre, Head of Product, Visit Jersey added: “Visit Jersey is keen to develop the island’s event portfolio, principally in the shoulder seasons. Jersey offers a diverse event space where the unique combination of land, coast, beach and sea provide immersive and authentic event experiences. With over 36 flights per day, and an average 1 hour flight from the UK, Jersey is well placed to welcome events. We are keen to work alongside event organisers to deliver experiences that generate and create lasting memories for visitors.”
Business visits and events is a high value sector, and provides year-round, non-seasonal tourism opportunities. In Britain, it is worth over £22 billion to the
economy in terms of its wider economic impact through associated delegate expenditure on travel, entertainment, shopping, pre-and post-conference tours.

The new website provides organisers with a number of resources including a list of venues, suppliers and local partners as well as toolkits for organisers. It also provides information on previous events hosted in Jersey such as the Superleague Triathlon, the AI Retreat and the Breca Swim Run and testimonials from local ambassadors.
