Three young digital enthusiasts who joined the C5 Alliance team of technology experts now work alongside their fathers, who are senior employees at C5.
Jack Gowlett (18) and Ben Roberts (18) have followed in their father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in technology at C5. Jack and Ben are new to the IT industry and have taken on entry-level roles as part of the C5 IT Operations Team.
Michael Kean (27), whose father also works for C5, originally joined the IT Operations Team in 2007 and has since worked his way up to Network Engineer. Michael has developed his digital credentials at C5, having gained an internationally recognised Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) in Routing and Switching.
Jack and Michael’s fathers - Andrew Gowlett and David Kean - are C5’s Trusted Technical Advisers. Earlier this year Ben’s father, Mark Roberts was promoted to a Consultant on C5’s 2nd Line Support Team.
Mark Roberts, commented:
“It’s wonderful to be able to work alongside my son, Ben at C5. I always encouraged Ben’s interest in developing tech skills while at school as I knew from my own experience that this knowledge is highly transferable to the working world and can provide a doorway to many future opportunities. The company is very supportive of its young employees and encourages them to expand their skillset by taking courses and gaining accreditations. From a senior employees’ point of view, it’s also refreshing to work alongside younger employees’ as they often offer fresh perspectives and ideas.”
Group Managing Director of C5 Alliance, Rob Leader, commented:
“As a family oriented organisation, I can speak on behalf of C5 in saying that having three sets of bi-generational tech experts working for us is something very special. While it’s always great to see young people taking an interest in a career in technology, I find it especially inspiring that these young men followed in their father’s footsteps. As an employee who also joined C5 at a young age, Michael’s advancement through the ranks is a fantastic example of the opportunities available for young people to develop digital knowledge at C5 and I hope to see Jack and Ben also taking on more senior roles in the future.”
