Finance guru appointed CEO at Qi

Friday 09 February 2018

The Qi Group of companies has appointed finance guru Steve Ryan as its new CEO.

Mr Ryan founded PBS Insurance Limited and Acorn Mortgages Limited, launched several mortgage and finance companies in Jersey, where he has lived since 1996, and worked with major financial institutions in the UK.

Peter Shirreffs, Group Chairman and former interim CEO, said: “We feel truly privileged to have attracted Steve to join our Group. I’ve known him for many, many years, and he has a world of business and lending experience—exactly what we need to grow our products to compete at the highest level."

Founder Mike Scragg added: “We are a rare hybrid that combines our own innovative marketing solutions through Quidsin.com with business solutions from Qi Finance. Steve has been brought on board to take the Qi brand and its key lines of business from its start-up position of rapid growth to a state of continued strength.”

Mr Ryan says he looks forward to expanding the company portfolio by adding new products to the current range of offerings. He said: “I’ve worked with large organisations and realise that I’m not a fan of institutions. I work best with creative, spirited, forward-thinking teams. Qi comes with its own unique, friendly, approachable personality. The company manages to be IT-platform based as well as extremely people-focused which attracts like-minded people,” Mr Ryan said. “It’s perfect timing for me; this opportunity came along right when I started to think about my next project to put my stamp on.”
