Trust, fund and corporate services provider, First Names Group, has appointed Helen Baxter as its new Head of Talent Management.
Her responsibilities include talent resourcing and development across every group location. Her role will focus on engaging, developing and supporting the group’s ‘First Names’ to help deliver the organisation’s long-term strategic goals.
Prior to moving to Jersey to take up her new position with First Names Group, Helen was based in Qatar where she was Senior Talent Manager with Ooredoo Group, a leading international communications company. Prior to that she spent 17 years with Mars UK where she latterly became Head of Talent, UK and Ireland.
She will be working closely with Talent and Resourcing Manager Sarah Richford, who is also a new addition to the team, to implement a range of initiatives to attract, develop and retain the very best talent for the Group – thus supporting the Group’s strategic objectives and people-focused culture.
Mrs Baxter said: “First Names Group is unique in its strong, genuine people focus and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to lead the talent team forward in developing a wide variety of recruitment initiatives and enhanced programmes for professional development. I am really looking forward to working closely with the exceptionally talented First Names around the world to further strengthen the Group’s positioning and help achieve its strategic vision.”
Group Head of HR, Gill Baker, added: “I am delighted that Helen has joined us as Head of Talent Management. It is a great pleasure to welcome her to both the HR team and the wider Group. Finding, developing and retaining talented First Names is critical to the success of our business and our people-focused culture; they are our business! Finding such a capable and well-respected HR professional such as Helen to lead our Talent Management strategy has been a priority for me and the Group and reflects the importance we place on our people.
“Talent resourcing and management are increasingly important aspects of any business looking to stand out and succeed in a competitive marketplace. Helen brings extensive experience in supporting businesses, leadership teams and individuals to reach their potential, and has won industry awards for initiatives she has been involved in. Helen is undoubtedly a great addition to both the HR Leadership team and First Names Group as a whole.”
Helen is mother to four young children, including a set of triplets. She lives in St Saviour with her family.
