A highly experienced physiotherapist and sports scientist, who has worked with professional footballers as well as injured soldiers, has joined the Jersey Sports and Spinal clinic.

Graham McAnuff (47) is a Chartered Physiotherapist with a particular interest in treating sports injuries.

After initially studying sports science and working for a number of non-league football clubs to boost their physical performance, Mr McAnuff specialised in physiotherapy.

He has worked at a number of professional clubs, including Torquay United, Exeter City and Millwall FC. He also worked for a consultancy in Oxford which specialised in sports rehabilitation, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning. While there, he worked extensively with the emergency services and armed forces to help injured personnel to return to active duty.

Mr McAnuff has moved to Jersey with his wife, who has taken up a senior teaching post in the Island.

He said: “My primary job is to get people fit and strong and to help them improve their function and optimise their potential. It’s abundantly clear that Jersey is a healthy, sporty island and I’m looking forward to doing my bit to make sure it stays that way. The team at the JSSC have a wealth of experience and it’s great to be part of such a professional team.”

Lisa Mann, co-founder and director of the Jersey Sports and Spinal Clinic, said: “Recruiting Graham is a real coup and his experience – especially among professional footballers – is unrivalled in the Island. His abilities are vast and he has an excellent track record in making sure that sportsmen and women can return safely and speedily from injury.”
