Former Tribunal chair launches mediation practice

Wednesday 28 April 2021

A former chair of the Jersey Employment and Discrimination Tribunal has launched a mediation practice to help settle personal and professional disputes.

Hilary Griffin has launched HG Mediate and will provides confidential face-to-face and online mediations for any individual or commercial dispute including company board and partnership disputes; contractual disputes between customers and suppliers; consumer issues; and workplace disputes between staff or between employers and employees.

A qualified lawyer, Ms Griffin was deputy chair and chair of the Tribunal for more than six years and now sits on the board of JACS.

On launching her new business, she said: “My years in dispute resolution and chairing the Jersey Employment Tribunal have shown me that mediation is a far better and cheaper way of resolving disputes than litigation as it can either enable the rebuilding of a relationship or it can ensure that the relationship ends in a less acrimonious manner.”

Ms Griffin also provides employment law advice to employers and employees who need specific employment advice.
