The Eastern Good Companions Club has enjoyed a mini-makeover with the help of employees from RBS International.
Equipped with paint pots and paint brushes, a 20-strong team of bank volunteers transformed the entrance foyer and lounge, while outside the green fingered among them tidied up and replanted flower beds.
The Chairman of the bank’s Corporate Sustainability Board, Jerry Whitsey, said: “As part of our commitment to community banking, RBS International offers all employees the opportunity to take up to one or two day’s paid leave each year to spend volunteering. Smaller charities like the Good Companions Club are often overlooked, so the team were delighted to be able to help improve the surroundings for all those who attend.
Eastern Good Companions Club manager Angie Falle: said “The current hall and lounge have not been decorated for some time, both were tired and dated. Our members use the club here as their home away from home and are delighted that their “home” has got a face lift - it’s a great start to spring 2014. We would like to thank the team from RBS International for choosing the Good Companions Club for a community project, one that will be enjoyed by many happy club users.”
