The Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors has announced a 22-strong shortlist of individuals for this year's annual search to find the top business leaders in Jersey’s private, public and voluntary sectors.

The winners of the 2015 Jersey Director of the Year Awards, sponsored by Appleby and Airtel-Vodafone and with PBS as video sponsor, will be announced at a black tie awards dinner on Friday 24th April at the Hotel de France.

Designed to celebrate the achievements of shortlisted nominees and winners as well as recognise excellence in the wider business community, the ceremony will once again be hosted by special guest speaker, renowned writer, broadcaster, former MP and Government Whip Gyles Brandreth. The shortlist is as follows:

In addition to these six categories, there will also be a brand new award this year that will recognise the best performer on the latest Chartered Director course.

Winners of the sixth annual Awards will be chosen by a specially selected panel of judges, chaired by Vicky Milner, Founder of Callington Chambers, and including Jason Laity, Executive Director, KPMG; John McGuinness, Head teacher, Grainville School; Chris Clark, CEO, Prosperity 24.7; and Claire Boscq-Scott, Managing Director, Claire Boscq-Scott Customer Services.

Vicky said: "During the initial round of judging, the panel was really impressed both by the quality of individuals nominated and the range of sectors represented, and this has made narrowing down a shortlist a real challenge. With market conditions beginning to improve, it’s clear that directors and senior individuals in Jersey are finding innovative ways to steer their organisations towards a successful future. Creativity and dynamism are likely to be the hallmarks of our potential winners as we enter the final stages of judging.”

The 2015 Jersey Director of the Year Awards, organised by the IoD and sponsored by Appleby, Airtel-Vodafone and with PBS as video sponsor, take place on Friday 24 April at the Hotel de France, starting at 7pm with a champagne reception.
